Recently, a Douyin influencer named “Xiaozhang the worker” went popular because of her “How-to” video series. In the videos, she teaches the most basic life skills, such as how to see a concert and how to take the underground. She has quickly got over 2 million followers on Douyin. The information from Google showed that nearly 40 percent of people born between 1997 and 2012 prefer Douyin for online searches.
In some way, the rising popularity of “How-to” videos shows the fact that young people’s search habits have changed. It’s popular around the world that young people use social media platforms for searching.
Li Zhouzi, a 14-year-old from Shanxi, likes to search on Bilibili. She says that by doing this, she gets information more quickly and easily. For example, when using traditional search engines for a concept of physics, she would always lose her way in a sea of hard-to-get terms. Instead, videos on Bilibili can offer detailed explanations that are often clearer than those she can find somewhere else.
Being able to form links with real people can also give searchers a strong sense of trust. Hu Tian is a 13-year-old girl from Sichuan. She likes searching for information on Xiaohongshu, a lifestyle-sharing platform. She can see notes with photos and texts posted by people who also have a liking for it. “I trust them more than some reviews from unknown people on search engines,” she said.
Like Hu, many young people search for lighter topics on social media platforms while they leave the heavier topics to traditional search engines. Zhou Yaokai, a Senior 3 student from Sichuan is one of them. When forming his personal opinions on hot topics, he prefers to turn to official websites of organizations. “In this way, the information is worth believing,” he said.
23.The author mentions the “How-to” video series to ________.
A.prove Douyin has become the most popular app
B.start talking about young people’s search habit
C.recommend his/her favourite search engine
D.make readers understand basic life skills
24.Which of the following may give HuTian a strong sense of trust
A.Fantastic stories told by someone unknown.
B.Products recommended by influencers.
C.Notes along with photos from someone.
D.Reviews from some famous people.
25.According to the article, the new searching engines like Douyin have the following advantages except ________.
A.young people can get information more quickly and easily by using them.
B.videos on them can provide clearer detailed explanations
C.some video series can teach basic life skills vividly and interestingly
D.they could be of great help if many young people want to search for heavier topics
26.Which shows the structure of the passage
A. B. C. D.

A young boy is crying because his ear hurts. Then a man comes out of the forest. He carries some juice from a white fungus. Carefully, he drips the juice into the boy’s ear. In some rainforest villages of South America, that’s how earaches are cured (治愈)!
Rainforest doctors, called shamans, use many kinds of plants as medicine. They make tea from one type of red vine (藤蔓). It cures stomachaches. Yellow flowers from another plant are used to treat snakebite. Local shamans have used the curing power of plants for thousands of years.
_________
Today, scientists from all over the world want to learn what these shamans know about plant medicines. They are racing to find the secrets of the rainforest before the plants disappear for good. And the rainforests are disappearing fast. Every year, people cut down an area of rainforest as large as Florida. Sometimes they want to use the land for farms. Sometimes they cut down the trees and sell the wood.
Now the scientists travel by boat, air, and foot to tiny rainforest villages. Then they spend long hours making their way through the hot and humid jungle (丛林) with the local shamans. The shamans show the scientists which plants can be used as cures.
Saving the Rainforest
One U.S. company has already found an important new medicine. It comes from a plant found in the rainforests of Ecuador. This medicine may soon be used to cure lung infections in kids. Rainforest plants might cure many bad diseases, such as cancer and AIDS. So medicine companies are working to save the rainforests. When people buy medicines made from the rainforest plants, part of the money will go to help save the rainforests. If the rainforests survive, someday you may find cures in your home that were made from white fungus and red vines.
