A
What can drones do Their many uses include taking pictures from the sky, watching wild animals and sending packages of goods. Now these small flying robots are leading a big change in farming.
With cameras and some data-collecting devices, drones provide us with an eye in the sky. Here are a few of the farming jobs drones can do.
Looking for sick crops
Drones can scan crops using different kinds of light. In this way, they carefully examine the fields and produce detailed pictures that can help us find sickly yellow plants within fields of green. Drones can also check for bacteria that are harmful to crops in the air from a few kilometers away, so that farmers can try to find ways to protect their crops before the bacteria get to them.
Water watch
Most fields aren’t perfectly flat. There might be hills, slopes and holes. After watering, some places may dry out faster. Some spots might not get water at all. Drones can scan the field and make a 3D map. Using the map, farmers can find out which parts of a field are dry or need improvement. This can make sure every crop can get enough water to stay healthy.
Spraying pesticide(喷洒农药)
Different parts of a field might have different heights. Drones can check for this when flying above the land. Then, they change their height and therefore spray the correct amount of pesticide over each part of the field. This way works much better than traditional pesticide spraying. Drones can finish spraying a field up to five times faster than with traditional machinery, according to a study. This can stop insects from damaging the crops in a shorter time.
26.How many farming jobs done by drones are introduced in the passage
A.3 B.4 C.5 D.6
27.Which of the following use of drones is NOT mentioned in the passage
A. B.
C. D.
28.What advantage of drones is mainly discussed in this passage
A.Drones can make farmers’ lives easier.

C.Drones can finish farming jobs faster.
D.Drones can help crops grow better.

This is a true story about a boy who, the world might say, was a terrible underachiever. While in the eighth grade, he failed subjects repeatedly. High school wasn’t much better; he flunked Latin, algebra, English, and received a grade of zero in physics. The boy managed to make the school golf team, but he lost the most important golf match of the season.
It’s not that his peers disliked this boy; it’s just that they never really seemed to notice him much. Even “Hellos” in the hall were a rarity. Out of all the failures in his life, there was something that did hold great importance to this boy, his love of drawing. Although in high school, the cartoons he submitted to the yearbook were rejected, once out of school, the boy was so sure of his artistic talent that he approached Walt Disney Studios with drawing works. I wish I could say the studios loved his work and immediately hired him, but such was not the case; another huge rejection.
Despite his lack of successes, this boy did not give up. He then decided to write his own autobiography in cartoons, about a little boy who was regarded as a loser and a nobody.
The name of this boy was Charles Schulz, the creator of the famous Charlie Brown and comic dog Snoopy.
In life, it is sometimes easy to feel like a nobody. We pass hundreds of people on the street on our way to work, or walk through a faceless crowd in a mall, and no one seems to notice or care. Deep inside, we may know we are special and unique and have lots to offer, but unless someone takes the time to look our way and give us a chance, we may feel worthless, just like Charlie Brown who couldn’t even manage to fly a kite or kick a football properly.
Just as Charles Schulz had faith in his artistic talent, so too, we must realize that nobody is a nobody. We all have special gifts and talents, and every human being is deserving and capable of being loved and appreciated.
29.The underlined word “flunked” in Paragraph 1 is closest in meaning to ________.
A.failed B.learned C.achieved D.misunderstood
30.What can we infer about the boy in Paragraph 2
A.He was hated by his peers.
B.He achieved great success in drawing in high school.
C.His work was refused by Walt Disney Studios.
D.He earned the praise from Walt Disney Studios.
31.In the last two paragraphs, we are advised ________.
A.to open up our eyes
B.to believe we can make some difference
C.to learn more skills for development
D.to ask for more appreciation and love
32.Which of the following is the best title of the passage
A.Nobody Is a Nobody.
B.A Hard-working Boy Is Successful.
C.We Should Turn Failure into Success.
D.One Cannot Succeed without Talents.
C
What are you holding in your hand while you are taking the examination Right. A pen.
Though it is small, the pen has changed the history, improved the trade of countries, recorded events, carried news, and done far more work for human beings than all other tools.
Progress without it would have been almost impossible. The invention of the wheel, the introduction of the steam engine, the use of electricity, all these have changed the lives of millions of people, but the pen has done more. It has taken away mountains, and it has prepared the way for all progress and development of society.
In the past the pen did all the work if you wanted to keep any writing for some time. The lawyers took up their pens and wrote the law of the country from the days when papyrus(纸莎草纸)was first used. The most famous letters in the world were written with a pen. It was with a pen that the greatest thinkers of all time wrote down their thoughts.
The pen is very utilitarian. We cannot sign a bill or write a letter or buy a house without our pen. An agreement is worthless till our name is written with a pen. The writers encourage the world with it. The students take their examinations with it as well.
Our coming into the world is recorded with a pen. Before we have been at school, our name is written on the name list with a pen. We cannot be married till we have signed. A pen records the important events in our life.
Let’s remember that we hold in our hand the most powerful instrument which man owns. The pen is a magic tool. Whenever you use it, enjoy it.

A.Describe what a pen looks like. B.Introduce the history of the pen.

35.The lawyers started to write the law of the country ________.
A.before their thoughts were changed B.when papyrus was first used
C.as soon as they recorded their names D.after they took an important exam
36.The underlined word “utilitarian” in the passage probably means “________”.
A.cheap B.boring C.special D.useful

Long long ago, there was a piece of wood. It was not an expensive piece of wood. Just a common block of firewood, one of those thick legs that are put on the fire to make cold rooms warm.
One fine day this piece of wood found itself in the shop of an old carpenter(木匠). Everyone called him Mastro Cherry, for the tip of his nose was so round and red that it looked like a ripe cherry.
As soon as he saw that piece of wood, Mastro Cherry was filled with joy. Rubbing his hands together happily, he said to himself, “This has come in time. I’m in need of a leg of the table.” But as he was about to give it the first blow, he stood still with arm uplifted, for he had heard a little voice say, “Please be careful! Do not hit me so hard!” Surprising, isn’t it
He tried to find out where that voice had come from and he saw no one! He looked under the bench—no one! He searched the room—no one! He opened the door to look around the street—and still no one!
“Oh, I see!” he then said, laughing and shaking his head. “There may be something wrong with my ears.”
“Well, well—to work once more.” He struck another blow hard on the piece of wood.
“Oh, oh! You hurt me!” cried the same far-away little voice.
Mastro Cherry’s mouth opened wide, eyes turned frightened and his tongue hung down on his chin(下巴). “Where did that voice come from This piece of wood has learned to cry like a child Here it is—a piece of common firewood, the same as any other. Yet—might someone be hidden in it If so, the worst for him. I’ll fix him!” With these words, he started to knock it. He threw it to the floor, against the walls, and even up to the ceiling.
He listened for the tiny voice to cry. He waited two minutes—nothing; five minutes—nothing; ten minutes—nothing. “Oh, I see,” he said, trying bravely to laugh and touching his hair. “Well, well—to work once more!” So he tried to sing a merry song to get power, and worked on.
“Stop it! Oh, stop it! You tickle my stomach.” This time poor Mastro Cherry fell as if shot. When he opened his eyes, he found himself sitting on the floor.
37.How many times did the piece of wood talk

I’m glad to talk about Tik Tok. Tik Tok is very popular in China now. People of all ages can make short videos by themselves. It shows people different kinds of daily activities. What’s more, Tik Tok can share interesting things with people, and make them happy and relax. However, every coin has two sides. It’s easy for people to be crazy about it. They spend too much time watching it. It’s bad for their eyes. People pay less attention to their work or study. Sometimes, it isn’t very healthy. I hope my email can help you understand Tik Tok better. If you want to know more about it, you can email me again.
