第二节 阅读填空(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
Our parents and teachers always tell us to “sit up straight” and “stand tall”. But why do they say that 61 Or is there something more to it
The truth is that how we hold our bodies can be important for our health. Meghan, a doctor, says slouching(低头垂肩地站或坐、走) can lead to sore necks, back problems, and even trouble with breathing. So maybe our parents and teachers are onto something.
62 They say that our spines(脊椎) are stronger than we think and that differences in how we stand or sit are just part of life.
So what does this mean Should we all be sitting up straight all the time 63 No! The experts agree that we shouldn’t stay in one position for too long. Our bodies are meant to move around. If we’re always sitting up straight to work on a computer or slouching to use a phone, that might cause us some trouble.
64 That way, we can avoid getting stuck(动不了) in a slouch. We should also make sure we take breaks and stretch muscles(伸展肌肉) from time to time. That will help us feel light in our steps.
Anyway, don’t worry too much if you catch yourself slouching sometimes. 65 Just remember to sit up straight and stand tall now and then. Your body will thank you for it.
A. Can we slouch for hours B. So maybe our parents and teachers are right. C. Is it just because they want us to look pretty D. The key is to keep our bodies active and change positions often. E. A little slouching here and there probably won’t break your back. F. However, some experts say we shouldn’t worry too much about slouching.
