Famous Movie Scene Locations
Kathmandu, Nepal
Ancient cities always provide a great back drop, as moviegoers are transported back in time to places that remain untouched by the outside world. In Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch plays a brilliant surgeon. Searching for a cure, he travels to a sacred place known as “Kamar Taj”, seeking the guidance of "The Ancient One". With fantastic traditional architecture colourful street markets and sacred temples, Kathmandu was the perfect setting, as its rich history was juxtaposed(映射)against the amazing special effects used to transport actors across space and time.
Italy
The movie Angels and Demons is like a treasure map for history and travel lovers, with dozens of incredible (and real) places that tourists can easily find. If you travel to Hobbiton, you can tour the set, see where famous scenes were filmed, stay overnight at the Green Dragon Inn and eat at The Shire's Rest cafeé.
Paris,France

During 20 years of working at his family's supermarket, Jos é Luis-Reig, known as Pep, never gave a thought to the world of academia(学术界).It was only when visiting the classrooms of universities with his two teenage daughters that he suddenly felt himself at home among the atmosphere of learning.
After school Pep had intended to study biology but was called on to help run the family business instead. When he was at school, he developed a reputation for helping others and so was invited onto the local radio, where the presenter said, “You're like a young psychologist (心理学家).”
Pep was no stranger to change. The family business had originally been a sawmill(锯木厂).But when Pep, then 27,was asked if he wanted to take over, he decided to change the mill into the town's first supermarket.
One day in the shop, the radio presenter's comment came back to him. After running the idea past his family, he applied to a university in Palma to study psychology and, aged 46, was accepted.
“I had to get used to being much older than the other students," he says.“But I ended up helping the others because I'd had more life experience." Pep came top of his year and impressed his tutors(导师)so much that he was offered a job researching and teaching. Now 52,and still in the job, he adds,“My only regret is not having done it earlier.”
The traditional view used to be that, while making changes in your youth was acceptable, you should then settle on a career and stick to it. An hour's extra sleep a night can shave 270 calories off people's daily diets, new research suggests-the equivalent of around three chocolate digestive biscuits. Over three years, this could lead to a weight loss of 26 pounds-simply by sleeping more, the researchers said.
A team from the University of Chicago wanted to look at how sleep interacts with obesity (肥胖)and so carried out a clinical trial with 80 adults. Writing in the journal Jama Internal Medicine, they found that young, overweight adults who habitually slept fewer than 6.5 hours a night were able to add an extra 1. 2 hours of sleep per night after undergoing counselling(咨询)to improve their sleeping habits.
The results showed that getting more sleep reduced people's overall intake by an average of 270 calories per day, with some people consuming 500 fewer calories. Dr Esra Tasali, from the University of Chicago's sleep centre, said the study had not intended to look at weight loss.
“But even within just two weeks, we have quantified evidence showing a decrease in caloric intake and a negative energy balance-caloric intake is less than calories burned,” she said. “If healthy sleep habits are kept over longer period, this would lead to clinically(临床地)important weight loss over time. Many people are working hard to find ways to decrease their caloric intake to lose weight-well, just by sleeping more, you may be able to reduce it considerably.”
The study did not attempt to restrict people's diets. Instead, they slept in their own beds, tracked their sleep with wearable devices, and otherwise followed a normal lifestyle without any instructions on diet or exercise. Dr Tasali said that limiting the use of devices such as mobile phones before bedtime helped people get more sleep. She added, “We saw that after just a single sleep counselling session, participants could change their bedtime habits enough to lead to an increase in sleep time.”
28.Why did the researchers carry out the study
A.To find how to reduce weight.
B. To know the proper sleep time.
C.To learn about healthy sleep habits.
D. To study the link between sleep and obesity.
29. What's Dr Tasali's attitude to the findings of the study
A.Doubtful.
B.Confident.
C.Negative.
D.Ambiguous.
30.What can we infer from the last paragraph
A.Participants should go on a restricted diet and do more exercise.
B. Limiting the use of digital devices is the best way to get enough sleep.
C.Participants tracked their sleep without disturbing their normal lifestyle.
D.A single sleep counselling session is useless for participants to change.
31.What's the best title of the text
A.A Strange Way to Lose Your Weight
B. Young and Overweight Adults Need More Sleep
C.Forming a Regular Sleep Habit Is Good for Your Health
D.Cut 270 Calories by Sleeping for an Extra Hour Every Night
D
Despite the fact that there has never been so much wealth or so many wealthy people in the world, many of the world's poor people still live in material and energy poverty. Could you and I cut back on our consumption(消耗)so as to make some space for others to increase theirs
I am sure we could. But, unfortunately, everything about our economic systems is set up to make us believe and behave otherwise. The default(默认)mindset is that there is nothing wrong with wanting ever newer and more expensive things as long as we can afford them.
Look around you for a moment. No society anywhere before lived like this. Further, since our spending must necessarily be someone else's income, we tell ourselves that we actually make the world a better place every time we buy another pair of shoes or trade in a car for the latest model. And that's the tug(拉) of war that plays itself out cruelly in our lives,as one side of our age cries out "less", and from the other side comes the answering cry “more”.
Of course, wanting to live a better life is deeply ingrained in human nature. Otherwise, we would never have generated the progress that has brought us to our present station.
But now we should think deeply about how and why we consume.
After all, even the earliest thinkers in the history of economic-including Adam Smith-thought, having more does not always translate into being happier. Evidence shows that many people in the developing world, despite being hard-up, report being just as happy as those in the materially rich societies of the West.
So what now The answer, perhaps, is to try to be rich in the enjoyment of things, not in the accumulation(堆积)of them. A pair of good shoes, lightly creased(起皱)but also carefully polished(擦亮)once a month; a meal cooked at home instead of a trip to McDonald's-such as these lie our act of saving from the virus of compulsive(强迫性的) consumption.
32.What can we infer from the first two paragraphs
A. People tend to buy things unreasonably.
B. People refuse to cut down on consumption.
C.People all face material and energy poverty.
D.People believe in political and economic systems.
33. What does the underlined word "ingrained” in paragraph 4 probably mean
A.Held.
B.Rooted.
C.Changed.
D.Possessed.
34.What does the author suggest
A.Trying to be rich. B.The more,the better.
C.Enjoying what we have. D. Focusing on the compulsive consumption.
35. In which section of a newspaper may this text appear
A.Entertainment. B.Health. C.Education. D.Economy.

Early in my teaching career, I heard countless excuses-most of them fabricated(编造的),many of them amusing-for why students didn’t have their homework. And,yes,“the dog ate it" was one of them. As time passed and I grew less easily cheated, I grew tired of hearing “I don't have my homework because..."
And so I quit accepting any excuse other than a verifiable(能证实的)death in the family.
When I moved to an inner-city middle school. I took my no-nonsense attitude with me. “No excuses, no extensions!” I warned my eighth graders on the first day of school. I collected homework at the beginning of each class. When a student didn't have it, I never asked why. Instead, I sighed loudly, shook my head in dramatic dislike and-with the student looking on-recorded a zero in the grade book. I soon gained the reputation I thought I wanted.
Then, one afternoon, shortly after the dismissal bell rang, Anthony approached me. “Could I talk to you a minute ” he asked shyly, not taking his eyes off the floor. “I know you said it doesn't matter why we don't have our lessons done, but I don't want you to think I'm a slacker(偷懒的人)because I come to school without mine so often.”
Anthony looked up at me for the first time, and I could see that his lower lip was quivering(颤抖的).“It’s just that... well, my dad moved out, and my mom waits tables at night, so I have to take care of my little brothers. Sometimes they cry a lot, and it makes it hard to concentrate.”
I put my hand on Anthony's thin shoulder. “Why are you just now telling me... ”I
stopped in mid-sentence. I knew why. So I changed the question. “Would it help if you stayed
here in my classroom after school and worked on it before you go home ”
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
